A room data sheet is the same drawing seven times over: plan, ceiling plan, four elevations, a 3D, all cropped to one room and laid on one title block. Room Sheets plans the whole set on screen — with a fit verdict per sheet before anything is built — then generates every sheet in a single transaction, stamps everything it places, and can later update its own work without ever touching yours.
Every room needs the same set, and every set is the same twenty minutes.
Everything before Generate is reversible planning — even the fit measurement rolls its transaction back. Everything after is stamped model fabric with a report and an update contract.

Three steps in one window — Rooms, Layout, Sheets — and nothing touches the model while you plan.
Step one is a floor plan you click: rooms light up as you select them, a pill keeps the count, and the level picker swaps storeys. Prefer the model? Pick in model hands you Revit's own picker, filtered to rooms. Scope boxes show green and dashed on the plan — click one and every view except the 3D crops to it. The whole step is a read: close the window and nothing happened.
The layout step is the office standard, written once: the title block with its measured paper size, the strategy — one sheet per room, everything on one, or auto-fit — per-view templates and scales (a scale-locking template wins, and the field greys to say so), and annotation toggles that each name the exact type they will place: room tags, keynotes, plan and vertical dimensions, spot elevations. Save it all as a named preset and carry it to the next project.
Press Continue with Keynotes ticked and RDS asks the model something nobody would think to check: is anything keynoted on a wall that BOUNDS the rooms you picked? If not it stops — “Revit's API cannot CREATE an element keynote — no add-in can, pyRevit included.” It can only copy one that exists, and a copy survives only where the view draws that keynote's own host; without a seed “every pill would print as an empty lozenge”, which is how 41 of them once reached an issued A0. Both exits are real: “Place a seed keynote” posts Revit's own command — “One click, once per project” — or “Continue without keynotes”.
The live preview lays every view on the paper and says, per sheet, whether it fits: ✓ Fits at 1:50, ≈ Tight, or ✕ Doesn't fit at 1:50 — fits at 1:75. It is honest about how it knows — “Sizes are estimated — press Measure for the real ones” — and Measure earns the stronger claim by building every view on a throwaway sheet inside a transaction it rolls straight back, leaving the model untouched and the preview “measured against the model”.
“Auto-fit” measures each room's view set against the title block's real usable area, then bin-packs the small ones — smallest first, up to four to a sheet. A room too big on its own is split into plans-and-elevations plus 3D, and it judges BOTH halves before claiming a clean split: “Room 1.02 is too big for one sheet even split — try scale 1:75” beats a false success. Grouped sheets rename themselves — “Rooms 1.03, 1.05, 1.07”, number suffixed +2 — so none claims to be about one room while carrying three. Without a measurable title block it refuses to guess and says so.
The undo entry is called “BIMIO Room Data Sheets — Generate” — every sheet, view and tag of the run, one Ctrl+Z away. A rolled-back commit reports zero, never fake counts.
Everything the run places carries a provenance stamp — the contract that lets Update refresh Room Sheets' own work and never yours.
Step three is the planned set as a grid — number and name editable, the fit verdict read-only beside them — and the regroup tools: merge small rooms onto one sheet, split a crowded one by room or into plans versus 3D, start a fresh sheet from ticked rooms, drag viewports to swap their slots. The verdict tells you what to change while changing it is still free: “✕ Doesn't fit at 1:50 — fits at 1:75”.

A viewport's Detail Number is what its title bubble prints, and left alone Revit hands them out in creation order — which is how an issued set ends up with its bubbles out of sequence. RDS bands them into rows: “Codes by position (FP · CP · 3D · EL1…)”, read left to right, top to bottom. Because “Revit keeps detail numbers unique per sheet — a clash is reported rather than silently renumbered”, it first parks every viewport on a value nothing else can hold — otherwise B is refused the number A is still sitting on. And “Leave Revit's own numbers alone” is there for projects whose numbering belongs elsewhere.
“Finishes schedule per room (floor · ceiling · wall · base)” ships on: every sheet gets a six-column table — Number, Name, Floor Finish, Ceiling Finish, Wall Finish, Base Finish — filtered to its own room by Room Number, in a cell of its own rather than parked over the drawings. Those four parameters are what Room Studio writes, so “Edit finishes…” hands the ticked room to the studio; tick two and it refuses — “Room Studio opens on ONE room, so tick exactly one.” A re-run finds that schedule by its stamp, not its name, so your edits survive and only the number filter is re-pointed. A room with no Number gets no table, and the report says why.

Generate ends on a run report: the verdict — Room Data Sheets generated — the tally of what the run placed, and every note filtered into “Needs attention” versus “For the record”. The commit status is actually checked: if Revit rolls the transaction back, the report says zero, because a tool that claims work it didn't do stops being believed.
Rooms rename, walls move, finishes change. Update existing sheets… previews every change first and applies only after you type YES — refreshing the annotation Room Sheets itself placed, identified by its stamp. The panel states the contract plainly: “Your manual edits are never overwritten.” Elements you moved become yours; sheets for deleted rooms are reported, never deleted — that call stays with you.
